Wards Falls (Six)

Wards Falls (Six)

Let’s get this out of the way: this photograph is one of my favourite I’ve ever taken. There.

I hiked into these falls and had the trail and falls all to myself. The light was perfect, bright cloudy sky filtered though a canopy of trees. I had shot a roll of the falls and packed up all my gear a few minutes before taking this. On my way out I crossed a small footbridge over the stream, looked back and saw this. I debated with myself on whether or not to unpack everything, load a new roll of film and shoot it. I had a hike ahead of me and was feeling really lazy about getting all my gear out again. Well, I am so happy I unpacked it all, the light was too beautiful to resist and the results speak for themselves. The shots of this stream were the best of the day.
