Upper Arrow Lake

Upper Arrow Lake

I say this a lot, but this part of BC really is one of my favourite places. It’s just so big. Everything is big. Big sky, big mountains, big lakes and rivers, big animals, big everything. I can’t help but feel really small in places like this, like I’m part of something bigger and more important. I think that’s a feeling that’s completely unknown to most people these days. Modern life is mostly about “me”, but out there, “me” is the smallest, most insignificant thing in sight.

This shot was taken looking south down the lake. To the north was a huge storm front. The sky was black and completely ominous. Another of the big things in those parts. I love the lines in the sand and the clouds over the mountain peaks.
